The Street

We are all strangers on the street, we know little if anything about one another. A momentary glance, teamed with casual prejudices and an educated assumption allow us the merest of insights into another person’s world. The streets are cold, society is colder.

Perhaps this is why we treat with contempt anyone that dares to photograph us in such a public space. Despite this resentment, it is essential to document the world in which we all at some stage inhabit.

Even over-zealous security staff should not prevent the documentation of our society, no matter how cold it may be out there. Where photography is banned, terrorism has won.
